چکیده
Electric retrofitting (e-retrofitting) is a viable option for accelerating the renewal of heavy-duty vehicle fleets to reduce related emissions. We introduce simulation-based assessment e-retrofitting strategies vehicles. Our simulation tool, an electric fleet toolbox, comprises three modules, namely driving cycles, dynamics, and profiles. The first allows creation realistic cycles based on GPS data from real routes. dynamics profiles incorporate, e.g., modelling powertrain conditions. Ten were created used investigating comparing different alternatives, including original diesel powertrain, with single-speed transmission multi-speed transmission. vehicles simulated in two heavy-load scenarios. First, cargo load represented by maximum weight second, snow ploughing. found that truck significantly improved its traction performance gradeability. On other hand, effect efficiency, thereby energy consumption, remained rather minor. Considering given workload scenarios, our results advocate employing than omitting gearbox e-retrofit process.

A Fuel-Based Inventory for Heavy-Duty Diesel Truck Emissions
A fuel-based method for estimating heavy-duty diesel truck emissions is described. In this method, emission factors are normalized to fuel consumption; vehicle activity is measured by the amount of diesel fuel consumed. For the San Francisco Bay Area during summer 1996, on-road heavy-duty diesel trucks were estimated at the upper bound to emit 110 × 103 kg/day of nitrogen oxides (NOx) and 3.7 ×...

Sammanfattning Scania CV AB is a leading company within development and production of buses, trucks as well as industrial and marine engines. New environmental and safety legislations continuously demand higher quality from the products. An upcoming European legislation, Euro 6, implies that gas leakages from truck engines should be detected while driving. If the source of the leakage is not on...

In the summer of 1998, the University of Denver conducted a remote sensing study in the Austin-San Marcos, Texas area. The focus of the study was to measure the ratios of CO, HC, and NO to CO 2 and to get percent opacity readings for heavy-duty diesel trucks with elevated exhaust. We calculated the grams of CO, HC, and NO per kilogram of fuel combusted from the ratios as would be observed by pr...
متن کاملModelling of Cranking Behaviour in Heavy Duty Truck Engines
In modern heavy duty trucks the battery is a central component. Its traditional role as an energy source for engine cranking has been extended to include powering a number of electrical components on the truck, both during driving and during standstill. As a consequence of this it is important to know how much a battery in use has aged and lost in terms of capacity and power output. The difficu...
